An easy cornbread recipe.. yumm!!

This is an easy cornbread recipe that I always whip up when I have to make a last minute side dish. The ingredients are something you can find in a pantry easily so making this recipe is a breeze! I adapted this recipe from an Epicurious recipe a while ago. Let me know how you like it!

Easy Cornbread

Ingredients:

1 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup flour
3 tbsp sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 can creamed corn
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter, melted and cooled
1 egg, beaten

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 400 F. Grease a square or round pan.
2. Mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, and salt. Add the creamed corn, butter, and egg to the mixture. Don't overmix or the cornbread will be tough.
3. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, till a skewer or knife inserted comes out clean. The bread will also start pulling away from the pan.

Cool and serve with grilled meats or chili, or eat as is!

Do leave your comments and let me know how it turns out!!

Lipsmacking Indian cuisine

Imagine a delicious curry with melt in your mouth flavor, an inviting aroma, well-blended ingredients, and smooth texture - Indian food is all that and much more. I really enjoy Indian cooking, and once you get all the ingredients that constitute a dish, I'm sure you will love it too!

There are some ingredients that are specific to Indian food and you can buy them easily at any Indian grocery store. For a list of grocery stores closest to you in the Bay Area, let me know and I'll send you the names and addresses of the ones that are in your vicinity.

There is loads to explore in Indian cuisine and I will try to post as often as I can!

Joy of Desserts

I have a great sweet tooth and love all things dessert. I found this great blog called Joy of Desserts by Joy Valerie Cronn. She seems to have a big sweet tooth too and posts delicious dessert recipes that I can't wait to try!!

She also has these interesting round ups and vintage recipe collections where she collects recipes related to a specific theme from all bloggers who visit her blog and want to participate. I am thinking of giving this a try and will soon post a vintage cake or cookie recipe. It will be interesting to see what others come up with!

Started writing on eHow

eHow has been one place that I have been wanting to explore after reading all those wonderful reviews and reports from other writers who have had positive experiences there. I wrote about 6 articles on eHow this past week which got some page views for me.

I hope to write more articles on eHow and Bukisa as well as write on Associated Content and Helium. My goal is to write at least 3 articles everyday. Let's see if I can achieve that!

Here is a link to my eHow profile. Please leave your precious feedback for me to tell me how I am doing.

Till next time,

Welcome!!

Hi!

Welcome to my blog! I am a writer who is also dabbles in cooking, baking, cake decorating, and crochet and jewelry-making. I love all things creative. I also like staying busy and try to make creative stuff, challenging myself to achieve success in whatever I do.

As I have adventures with my creative attempts, I thought why not blog about my journey so that you all know of my pursuits.

So, come on with me on this ride... there will be good and bad moments but as is my motto - "when others can do it, why can't I??!! What's the harm in trying?"

As I sign off, I invite your feedback and helpful comments in improving my projects. Please do let me know your thoughts and opinion as I update my Hobby Chronicle!
